Aug 23rd, First Day

Ah. So I started work today.
It's just training/a retreat so it wasn't too intense.
I got to school, only to realize that the day was beginning at a Church; AND that wasn't the one right next to me. I still arrived on time. Good thing I'm always early (like KMO).

I found out that I was working today when I got home with Kyle and my Dad told me he saw it on the website. Dang. I thought I started next week. So in a frenzy, I packed all the last couple things I needed and dropped Kyle off at Nick and Craig's place.

I didn't unpack last night and I didn't sleep well either. Today however, I did unpack and I'll probably sleep better tonight being less stressed and all. It actually looks pretty decent now, especially once the big bookcase is gone.

Kyle is here in DC until Wed. He goes to New York for a couple days, and then comes back Fri with his new gf, whom we have not yet met. He showed me a pic on facebook though. FINALLY. We have validation that she's real lol. From what I've heard from Kyle, she's got a good heart and a great personality. She should fit in well with us, I'm thinking. Btw, she's from Australia? That question mark is no typo.

In other news and things that I forgot to post, Rob and Letty's wedding was a crazy good time. Beautiful bride, beautiful ceremony and reception and good ole Rob. Joe cried when Letty came down the aisle. Got me goin a lil too. All of our friends who are girls were there, as well as Letty's girls, whom I hadn't seen in years. Kate and Casey were real cute and it was the first time I had seen them since they got engaged. Kate also made the road trip down with Nick, Craig, and me. That Eminem song came on every hour so it's a lil tired out for me. haha

I had way too much fun though lol. Craig and Nick can attest.

The DMV! I was joking earlier with my brother, but the person who decided that it was a good idea to make people stand in a line to get a number, to wait in another line, was a sick, sick person.

Ah I'm over it...sorta.

August 6th.

Today was a good day.

I found out that by moving and becoming a resident of VA, I will be saving $600 a year on car insurance. Beat that commercials.

Then I went to Six Flags with my buddies (Nush, Ricky, and Nush's gf, Svetlana).
Overall good time. Sitting in the last row for Superman:Man of Steel was the best idea all day. Panda Express for lunch. Good stuff. Boo Bat Wing. That's not my favorite. Laying down on a ride scares me. Perfect weather today too.

Awesome day, every ride. Ended in drama. She fell of an inner tube and hit her head going down a water slide. Nush got his money back, but it took a couple hours and was exaggerated a little. Ahem.

Had an awesome conversation last night too btw. Mutual friend from high school that I didn't remember. Conversation was on AIM. About everything. Traveling abroad, Dematha (the bomb-dot-com), Tenchi Muyo, lol. Hope more conversations follow.

Finally, I read this African Proverb today that was funny and made me think of my girl, Kara Moey Fitzll. Btw, how did "Fitzll" become short for Fitzgerald?

Anyway proverb is:
"If you educate a boy, you educate an individual; if you educate a girl, you educate a community." So sexist.

Nearing August

Time has flown by since my last post. Let me fix that.

I am currently taking my 2nd class at Trinity in order to get certified. Thank God it's almost over lol. I enjoyed the class last week, but the class this week is just less appealing. I can't decide if it's just me and I'm restless because I've been in classes for which I am not particularly fond, or if it's because the teacher seems lacking. Either way, it's Wed and Fri is my last day.

On another note I'm looking forward to different events.
Tomorrow is the first crew board meeting with the new board members and with me as the new Women's Team Head Coach. Should be interesting.
I'm also looking forward to visiting my ole Housemate Kara on the 31st. Miss Ashley Wells is driving up and is taking Juliette, Colleen, and me. Thanks in advance girly. Up there, I'll be catching up with some good friends that I haven't seen in a while.

On a personal note, I've been erg'ing a lot which is a big change. I can say that it's been a process getting up to speed, but that plus all the lifting I was doing regularly already has combined for some good results. Almost back to my College Crew fitness level.
I've also been going to Mass at the Basilica of course, since I haven't joined a new parish yet. CUA was my parish, and I'm looking forward to joining a parish when I move next month.

Ah, weddings! I'm going to Rob's wedding is less than a month. Should be a great time.
AND! Casey got engaged to Kate over the weekend. His text was awesome. He did say at Rob's party the other weekend that it wasn't long before he would ask. I assumed Fall lol. Don't worry about my other predictions guys. I don't even remember all of them.

I also subscribed to Matt Aujero's new blog just now. Gotta call him (note to self).

That's it for now. Gotta work on my project for Fri.

BTW! I started and finished watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. My new obsession, even though it's over haha.

After talking with Hannah O,

I remembered I haven't even posted here in forever.
Literally. Well maybe not forever (Colleen lol), but certainly months.

Hey all, I'm alive and well.

I am now working at a Catholic grade school in Virginia. I started as an aide, and am going to be a counselor-in-training in the Fall. The staff is really supportive and the kids are great, although a handful. I worked the last 2 1/2 weeks of the school year there, so now I am on Summer break for 2 months.

I am also taking classes in July at Trinity to get my certification so that I can teach at this school in the following year. The 2 classes are over the span of 2 weeks.

Not only do I enjoy the job, but it also allows me to continue coaching.
I am now the Head Coach of the Women's Team and the Assistant Head Coach. Very Exciting.
We closed out a beautiful season at National's and am looking forward to another strong year next year. I have big shoes to fill, but I am excited to take this step forward.

I also just put a deposit down on a room I am renting in Virginia, close to where I coach. Sweet.

Looking back on this full year after graduation, it has been a time of ups and downs. Mostly, I was unhappy and dissatisfied with my life as a manager in retail and with my school loans. I was struggling with paying the bills and finding something fulfilling to do. Coaching was exciting, but couldn't pay the bills alone. It took me a while to trust.

Once I started believing everything would come together, it did. Wow.

I will now be able to pay the bills and live my life. Interesting how it all comes about, right?

I know that I could not have gotten out of the rut (unhappy with work, etc), if I did not have good friends. I was blessed to have them in my time of need, and I am blessed to have them (you) now.

I'm currently jamming to "Got Your Back" by T.I. and Keri Hilson and I am looking forward to Robert and Letty's wedding in August.

I will also try to be better at posting here.
